Our Beliefs

The Scriptures: We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error. (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21)

Salvation: We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that the Holy Spirit regenerates those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior, whose blood was shed on the cross for their sins. (Hebrews 10:4-14, I John 2:2, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 1:7)

About God: We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world. (John 1:1,2,14,18 & 14:16,17; I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:30)

The Christian Life: We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. (Galatians 5:16-23, Colossians 2:1-10)

Mankind: We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort alone. (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:8-10)

The Church: We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world. (Acts 2:41-42)

Baptism and the Lord Supper: We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer (Acts 2:41). The Lord's Supper is the commemoration of the death of the Lord Jesus, preceded by solemn self-examination. (I Corinthians 11: 23-31)

The Resurrection: We believe that the Scriptures clearly teach that Jesus rose from the dead and He now exists in His glorified body at God's right hand. (John 20:19-20; Acts 2:33) All will bodily resurrected, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to eternal punishment. (John 5:28-29; Rev. 20:5-6:12-13)

Eternal Security: Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security. (John 10:29; II Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25 & 10:10-14; I Peter 1:3-5)
